The new carbon calculator has been developed in partnership with Cardiff University Business School as part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and can be accessed by contacting your local Tower sales representative, with information about how it works within Tower’s new Sustainability Center available on its website.
By providing valuable data about the carbon footprint of each shipment, the tool can provide clear, actionable insights that enable customers to make informed decisions about their environmental impact. It also helps identify areas for improvement not only within Tower’s operations but across the broader supply chain industry.
With this transparent view, customers can better understand the environmental impact of their logistics options and explore opportunities to reduce emissions. The calculator leverages comprehensive datasets from the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and follows established industry frameworks, ensuring data is accurate and aligned with recognized standards.
The main advantage of the tool is its ability to compare Tower solutions with alternative market options. This personalized carbon emissions analysis takes into account factors such as container type and quantity, temperatures, transportation mode, distance traveled, and total load weight. This comprehensive approach provides an accurate estimate of emissions based on the specific logistics solution used.
When Tower representatives calculate a shipment’s carbon footprint, customers receive a detailed, easy-to-use report. This report facilitates direct comparisons between Tower containers and other available options, clearly demonstrating the potential CO2 savings achieved through improved solutions.
