The International Association of Machinists announced Saturday that a tentative agreement has been reached to end the Boeing strike after five weeks of workers going on strike.
The new deal, which still needs to be ratified by a majority of the union’s 33,000 members before employees return to work, will increase wages by 35 percent for the life of the contract and increase company contributions to 401(k) plans.
Members had previously rejected a proposed deal, leading to the company’s first strike in 16 years, but the union is confident in the new offer.
A tentative agreement to end the Boeing strike has been reached for the first time in Air Cargo Week.
