Avianca Cargo, one of the largest carriers in Latin America, has expanded its use of Traxon Global Security (TGS) by adding a security profile for Canada. Avianca Cargo is now compliant with Transport Canada’s Preload Air Cargo Targeting (PACT) initiative and uses TGS to meet all regulatory requirements using automated data collection, validation and submission.
Transport Canada’s PACT program aims to identify and mitigate high-risk air cargo shipments before they are transported to Canada. Risk assessments are performed through Advance Cargo Information Checks (PLACI), which means air carriers and freight forwarders are required to provide detailed shipping data before loading.
Avianca Cargo has been proactive about meeting specific requirements and was already in the process of implementation when Transport Canada announced the April 1, 2025 compliance deadline.
As existing users of TGS to comply with other PLACI schemes, Avianca Cargo were familiar with the platform and had been using it to great success for many years now. This means that CHAMP was able to add Canada PACT capabilities with minimal intervention, making it the most time and cost effective solution.
Further leveraging TGS provides Avianca Cargo with streamlined processes, automation and accurate data delivery while improving efficiency, reducing costs and avoiding costly penalties associated with non-compliance. Avianca Cargo will also benefit from having all its customs reports in one place, providing complete visibility of all customs and security reports.
CHAMP is committed to constantly updating the TGS with new and emerging requirements of multiple PLACI schemes, including ACAS, EU-ICS2, NAIC and PREDICT. As new initiatives emerge, Avianca and other TGS clients can rest assured of staying up to date on the global regulatory landscape.
Avianca Cargo has consistently chosen CHAMP as a trusted partner and diligently adheres to new and emerging regulations and standards by leveraging CHAMP solutions such as Traxon cargoHUB Airmail, Traxon Global Customs and Traxon Global Security.
CHAMP and Avianca Cargo have enjoyed a close and productive working relationship defined by high levels of trust, communication and engagement.
“I am pleased to announce that we have proactively met the specific requirements of Transport Canada’s PACT initiative. This achievement underscores our commitment to excellence and our dedication to staying ahead of regulatory standards to better serve our customers and partners,” said Eduardo Arenas, Director of Alliances, Strategy and Transformation at Avianca Cargo.
“We congratulate Avianca Cargo on their diligence in adding Canada PACT capabilities to their existing use of Traxon Global Security,” said Anna Kleckner, Senior Sales and Account Manager at CHAMP. “This is an important addition that will simplify Avianca’s regulatory compliance, allowing it to operate seamlessly in Canada.” We look forward to supporting Avianca’s operations and facilitating compliance with new requirements as they evolve.
