
Swissport International has successfully started land handling operations at Frankfurt Airport at the end of last week. To show its location in one of the largest airlines in the world, Swissport will grow its customer base and the workforce constantly in the coming months.

Swissport International, a global leading pioneer at the airport and dealing with air freight, started as a new ground processor at Frafurt Airport (FRA). The operations were successfully operated from the service in the early morning flight service from KLM, Air France and LOT at 1 and 2 stations. Frankfurt will become the largest Swissport site in Germany and one of its most important operations in Europe.

SWISSport Earth handles in Frankfurt began with a skilled team with more than 350 ground service professionals at the airport. With the progress of the year, newly rented employees will join every month to accommodate new customers, peak travel seasons around Easter, and summer holidays. Employment will also continue until after summer to prepare the acquisition of the remaining flights for broad aircraft, which, during a transitional stage until October 31, 2025, will be dealt with by a third party provider who was temporarily contracted under the land handling license from the FAPORT airport operator.
In August 2024, Swissport was awarded a land handling license in the most important center in Germany by the Ministry of Transport in Hess State, after a competitive tender that included six bidders. The license, Saleh for seven years, allows Swissport to provide ground services for all transport companies at Frankfurt Airport. The Swissport Portfoller includes passenger services when registering and gates, luggage processing, aircraft decline, charging and unloading.
Swissport has been active at Frankfurt Airport since 1995 with a goods treatment unit. In November 2020, the company opened a warehouse on the latest air freight model, including the Cargo City South Center. In addition, the SWISSPORT company has provided its pricing services in Frankfurt since 1999, and its subsidiary AFS has provided fueling services in Frankfurt since 1988.
