Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP) has reached a significant milestone in its business transformation, culminating with a record 85% of all bookings made online last month. This achievement underscores the success of its myCargo digital platform, which was developed internally and has evolved over the past eight years from being a simple quote and book tool to a comprehensive online service centre.
The myCargo platform is central to AFKLMP’s channel strategy, designed to meet customers’ increasing demands for seamless business interactions – anytime, anywhere. Developed with direct customer input and leveraging the expertise of AFKLMP’s freight specialists, myCargo has become the industry’s leading booking and service platform. The recent increase in online bookings reflects growing customer confidence and satisfaction.
In addition to enhancing digital booking capabilities, AFKLMP has invested in dynamic pricing, using data and artificial intelligence to deliver optimal pricing in real time. This commitment to innovation extends to the development of a new global customer relationship management (CRM) platform in partnership with Salesforce. The CRM system, which is currently implemented across more than 65 offices around the world, aims to set a new standard for service levels in the shipping industry by mid-2025.
Complementing its digital developments, AFKLMP has introduced the new PLUS service level, providing customers with a higher business priority and expanding its product range to better meet customers’ diverse needs.
AFKLMP has also focused on expanding the network, with increased services to Asia to support the thriving e-commerce market there, while maintaining main deck capacity in South America, the US and Africa. These strategic developments have increased customer recognition and strengthened AFKLMP’s position as a leading European airline throughout 2024.
Looking forward to 2025, AFKLMP is poised to enhance its business transformation, aiming to deliver unique, next-level service offerings adapted to the evolving requirements of its clients. “We have high hopes for 2025, when we will continue to take bold steps in our commercial transformation by delivering unique, next-level service offerings to meet the growing demands and needs of our customers,” said Gertjan Rowlands, Senior Vice President Commercial at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo. “
