American Airlines has resumed flights after a “technical issue” that prompted the US Federal Aviation Administration to order a ground stop for all its flights.
“An issue with vendor technology briefly impacted flights This morning. This problem has been resolved and flights have resumed. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience This morning. “It’s all set, with our team working hard to get customers where they need to go as quickly as possible,” American Airlines said in a statement.
This incident comes months after a global IT meltdown that affected major airlines across the United States. This failure, which also affected banks and emergency services, was caused by a mistake by Crowdstrike, a cybersecurity company.
This problem led to the delay of more than 42,000 flights and the cancellation of more than 4,700 flights around the world.
