The Avia Solutions collection has made a partnership with DHL Express to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its international shipments. The partnership is working to take advantage of the innovative Gogreen Plus service to reduce the emissions of Group 3 by using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Through the Gogreen Plus Form, the AVIA Solutions group has already reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 12.61 % associated with DHL shipments, which translate into 30.6 tons of emissions between January and April 2025.
This indicates a commitment at the group level to more sustainable operations, the partnership includes a number of companies affiliated with the AVIA Solutions group across different sub -sectors.
“As a global aviation leader who works on six continents, we realize our responsibility to contribute to the most sustainable industry practices,” said Jonas Janokinas, CEO of AVIA Solutions Group. “By using SAF to meet our logistical needs on a large scale, we can prove the validity of this approach and push other airlines to take bold steps to reduce their environmental impact.”
“We are proud to support the Avia Solutions group in its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through its wide network,” said Mindaugas Pivoriunas, Managing Director of DHL Express Lithuania. “The road to the aviation industry to Net-Zero requires cooperative efforts, and explains the widespread adoption of Gogreen Plus’s willingness to adopt more sustainable practices.”
Googreen Plus from DHL customers can reduce greenhouse gas emissions caused by their shipments through the use of SAF, which are produced from alternative raw materials with improved sustainable image such as used cooking oil or waste. In its life cycle, SAF can reduce 80 % on average compared to traditional aircraft fuel. DHL GOGREEN Plus (Innetting) reduces greenhouse gas emissions within the logistical services sector, and therefore DHL customers can be used to report voluntary emissions based on “book and demanding approach”. The service is part of the DHL group’s commitment to the NET-Zero Ghg emissions by 2050.
Googreen Plus is possible through the strategic DHL Express partnerships with SAF major producers, including agreements with BP and NSTE to provide more than 800 million liters of SAF for the DHL Express network. This cooperation is expected to provide about two million tons of carbon dioxide emissions on a life fuel life cycle.
