
AVION Express, a narrow acute ACMI company with a universal body (aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance), and part of the AVIA Solutions group, preparations for AOC Certificate in Mexico, and as part of this, the company begins in the recruitment process of the CEO of Acmi Starting ACMI. The Mexican’s creation is part of a strategic initiative to expand the company’s fingerprint in the major growth markets in Latin America.
Mexico provides strong potential for this expansion. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (IGI), more than 45 million international tourists visited Mexico last year – the highest number since 2019. But the demand for flights is not only driven by tourism. Air travel inside Mexico plays an important role in linking people all over the country. In 2024 alone, more than 830,000 flights were made inside Mexico, and local airlines served 596 pairs from the city, according to the Air Transport Association in Latin America and the Caribbean Sea region (Alta).
Alta also notes that in 2024, the average person in Mexico took 0.85 trips, which is much higher than an average of 862 trips per person across Latin America and the Caribbean. Between 2017 and 2024, local air travel in Mexico grew by 4.4 % annually, while international travel increased by 3.7 % annually.
“As an ACMI operator, we aim to support airlines by adding the ability when needed, especially in response to demand and seasonal fluctuations in different markets. With our presence firmly in Europe, we expand our global funds by focusing on counter -lives. It can provide great value,” said Darius Kajukas, CEO of Avion Express.
Getting AOC in Mexico will greatly enhance the position of AVION Express as a global pioneer in ACMI solutions. The company is now focusing on building a professional team that will have a deep experience in the local market.
“As a preliminary step, we launch the recruitment process of the CEO of AVION Express Mexico, who will be responsible for building the team, leading the Mexican AOC certificate, and then running the work later as soon as it runs,” Darius Kajokas pointed out.
Avion Express plans to secure the Mexican AOC in the next 24 months.
