DHL, Founding Partner and Official Logistics Partner of Formula E, celebrated 10 years of racing together, delivering the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship to London for the final stage of the 2023/24 season.
DHL has been an integral part of the world’s first all-electric motorsport championship since 2013, enabling Formula E to launch the championship and deliver 132 races across 33 cities in 24 countries to date. To celebrate this important event, Formula E today presented DHL with a first-generation car adorned with a custom DHL livery. The design displays abstract red lines that reflect DHL’s distinctive branding, along with a green leaf that symbolizes sustainability. Text detailing key partnership milestones surrounds the car showcasing DHL’s contribution to motorsport and global race delivery.
Leveraging 40 years of global motorsport experience, DHL has played a crucial role in bringing the championship to fans around the world, allowing them to enjoy the excitement of Formula E while supporting the sustainability message.
The DHL partnership provides cutting-edge sustainable logistics services, using multimodal transportation solutions, including sea and road freight, to maximize efficiency. Over the past three seasons, Formula E has achieved a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by using biofuels for road and sea freight, and now, for the second time in this year’s championship, cargo will be transported using DHL’s GoGreen Plus service, which makes use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). . Three aircraft will travel nearly 5,000 miles from Portland to London using SAF, achieving an approximately 80% reduction in greenhouse gases compared to conventional jet fuel.

The 2024 London E-Prix on July 20-21 will conclude the 10th season, with DHL covering more than 98,000 kilometers and presenting 16 races in 10 distinct cities. This extensive journey involved transporting approximately 400 metric tons of cargo critical to each race, including race cars, batteries, charging units and broadcast equipment, as well as marketing and hospitality materials.
