XpoThe pioneering provider of innovative and sustainable transport and logistics solutions in Europe has been granted a silver medal for the fourth time by Ecovadis for the corporate social responsibility strategy (CSR) that it carried out in its European business. It sets the total total scores for XPO Logistics 4 % of land transport companies in Europe.
Ecovadis supports companies in their work to manage risk and compliance with four main pillars of their environmental and social policies and governance (including environmental performance, employment and human rights, ethics and sustainable purchases).
“Receiving an electronic silver medal for the fourth time reflects the strong XPO commitment to continuing the development of innovative tools and initiatives to push operational excellence and service to our customers, while reducing our carbon fingerprint. In order to achieve this purpose, we have developed a road map to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050,” said Luis Gomez, President – Europe, Xpo Logistics.
Some factors that helped Xpo Logistics include this recognition to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 13 % in 2022, twice the previous plan for this period.
Xpo has strengthened this year with new initiatives that provide alternative transport solutions that help our customers increase their carbon efforts in their supply chains. This includes new fuel, new technological tools, and new multimedia solutions. An example of this is the launch of the Less® (a sustainable solution for low emissions), a solution developed by Xpo Logistics that uses the vegetarian oil treated with hydarat (HVO), a fuel that can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90 % compared to traditional fuel.
In addition to providing improved solutions that improve the accuracy of carbon fingerprint accounts and sustainable purchasing policies, the company reaffirms its commitment to technology that improves processes and reduces empty kilometers to enhance emissions reduction.
