- Frankfurt Hahn Airport and Aktau International Airport JSC have formed a strategic partnership to boost cargo operations and enhance connectivity between Germany and Kazakhstan. The agreement focuses on cooperation opportunities in the field of air cargo, as initial flights have already been completed and more flights are planned. The airports will also exchange expertise in operations, technology and customer service in the cargo and passenger sectors.
- Frankfurt-Hahn Airport, with its 24/7 operating license and central EU location, complements Aktau’s strategic location on the Caspian Sea and its ambitions to become a major cargo hub along the Europe-Asia trade corridor. Both partners aim to enhance bilateral trade and develop a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship.
Hahn Airport GmbH and Aktau International Airport Shareholding Company have entered into a strategic partnership. Both operators have signed a partnership agreement for Frankfurt Hahn Airport (HHN) and Aktau International Airport (SCO), which is located in Kazakhstan. The cooperation focuses on the shipping sector and includes, for example, identifying opportunities for cooperation. The partnership has already achieved tangible results: Two flights have already been completed, and two more will follow soon. Additional flights are being planned, demonstrating the potential for shipping between regions.
In addition, both sites will engage in close exchange on proven processes – for example, in key areas such as technology, security, customer service and operations. This applies to the freight and passenger sectors. Another goal of the partnership is to expand trade relations between Germany and Kazakhstan.
Hahn Airport is one of the few airports in Germany with a 24/7 operating license. Its strategic location in the heart of Europe allows it to provide efficient services to major production and logistics centers across the European Union, making it an ideal gateway to the Middle East and Asia.
Kazakhstan’s Aktau Airport is strategically located in the Mangystau region, the only region in the country with direct access to the Caspian Sea. The airport is preparing to develop and consolidate its position as a vital center for transit freight on the route between Europe and Asia. Aktau offers its customers a 24/7 customs and border control point, which is planned to establish a direct railway connection.
“We are committed to the continuous development of our airport and are always looking for valuable cooperation partners. We highly anticipate this new partnership with Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. Our face-to-face meeting in Germany was an excellent and promising start to our collaborative journey.” Mirwirt ZoldibaevaGeneral Manager of Aktau International Airport.
“Through its partnership with Aktau International Airport, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is expanding its global network,” said Rüdiger Franke, Managing Director and CEO of Hahn Airport. “We are very excited about the opportunities that this cooperation will bring.
