The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has added a culinary twist to its annual Freight Service Awards event, as the deadline for entries has been extended this year.
BIFA Director General Steve Parker has revealed that the popular host of the awards ceremony in January 2025 will be a writer, media personality and former greengrocer. Greg Wallace MBE.
“I’m often asked what the secret ingredients are in the recipe for success for any company looking to win one of our awards. So it seemed appropriate to invite someone who is perhaps best known for co-presenting BBC1’s MasterChef, Celebrity MasterChef and MasterChef: The Professionals.
“We ask that awards include details of a relevant service or project such as a specific case study, the development of a new service for a particular client, or a more general example of good practice.
“Components should include examples of innovative ideas, or service improvements, as well as customer and company benefits. As with the end result of any decent recipe we see on programs hosted by Greg, the presentation is of great importance.
Now in its 36th year, the BIFA Freight Services Awards are open to all members of the trade association, which represents British companies involved in managing the global movement of freight and international supply chains by all modes of transport.
They are an important part of BIFA’s mission to encourage its members in their quest to improve standards and excellence in the logistics and supply chain sector, as well as being a key component of the trade association’s engagement with its members.
Each of the eleven award categories is sponsored by a number of major companies and is recognized as highly prestigious, with the award becoming more sought after year on year.
In conjunction with the announcement of the host, the deadline for entry into the nine business categories has been extended and is now Wednesday 9 October 2024.
Finalists will be announced at the end of this year. The winners will be revealed at the BIFA Freight Service Awards 2024 at The Brewery in central London on Thursday 16 January 2025, an annual event on the industry calendar not to be missed.
Parker added: “Greg Wallace MBE is a classic example of someone who has built a successful business from scratch and gone on to achieve further successes. I hope any of our award winners see the same results.”
“He’s also no stranger to logistics, aspects of which he studied on Supermarket Secrets, detailing the complexities and innovations of their supply chains.”
