Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) has welcomed Peter Pensel, to its new Supervisory Board.
Bensil, who serves as President of Delta Air Cargo, has more than 30 years of experience in air cargo, including senior positions at Qatar Airways, DHL Global Forwarding, UTi and CEVA Logistics.
Schiphol Nederland NV, together with the Province of Limburg, joined as shareholders of NV HBLM in 2023 and has now decided to appoint Pensel as the fourth member of the Supervisory Board to strengthen MST’s commitment to cargo growth and its objectives.
“Maastricht Airport is looking to the future with the arrival of our new CEO, Jos Meijs, next month and a strong plan to further develop our cargo services,” said Jonas van Stekelenburg, CEO of Maastricht Aachen Airport.
“Peter’s strong track record in air cargo adds weight to our new Supervisory Board and we look forward to helping him drive new initiatives for our cargo offering.”
MST, the second largest cargo hub in the Netherlands, has a new management structure following investment from Royal Schiphol Group, owner of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
The Supervisory Board, charged with guiding the airport’s future growth, consists of experts in various disciplines in aviation and business, including Frans Wickers and Angelique Balmain, Agent Klosterzel from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Last year MST invested €35.3 million to upgrade its runway as part of an ongoing €100 million infrastructure development plan.
