On February 24 and 25, the global air freight industry will meet in Dublin for iATA One Record Hacka-theth. The Open Logistics Corporation participates as a partner for the first time. In cooperation with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), it enhances a single record standard for the exchange of open data in Logistics Global Air Free Direight Logistics. In the spirit of cooperation and society, the Foundation wants to encourage companies to create common solutions instead of individual solutions.
The IATA record standard provides great possibilities for digitization for air charging. Important for the future: a neutral platform for cooperative development of the standard. This is where the Open Logistics Corporation comes. As a non -profit institution and commenbenefit, it provides infrastructure to enhance the development of one record actively as an open source solution. The comprehensive goal of the institution is not to implement one record in many individual variables, but to create a standard solution for all air shipments.
“The standard is not a commercial model,” Andreas Nettstter, CEO of Open Logistics Foundation. “Our work aims to create one record as an open standard that benefits all concerned. For this reason, we invite companies in the air freight industry to join the growing community.” While IATA unites the global air freight community, the Foundation plays a major role as a facilitator of concrete development steps. It brings to members’ proposals, coordinates the exchange and speeds up the development of practical solutions. “The standard of one registry is a decisive step for us to raise the digitization of the air freight industry on an open source framework and enable smooth exchange of data,” explains Henk Mulder, IATA, head of digital charging, said.
One of the examples of the success of cooperative methods in the Open Logistics Foundation is the development of ECMR’s electronic charge in the international transport sector. Companies such as Rhenus, Dachser, Transporeon, Eteratec and others have worked together to solve the standard. Instead of following independent and ineffective methods, a unified open source solution – from society for the entire industry has been created.
Open Logistics plays a major role in the development and implementation of One Rec-Ord and ensures that all players in the air freight industry find a common ground. In cooperation with strong ideas such as the Fraunhofer Institute for the flow of materials and logistics services (IML), the standard is constantly provided to enhance the sport of industry in the long term. The main result of cooperation between the Open Logistics Corporation and IATA is an open source Ne: one server icon. This is a data center and is based on one iATA record standard. The server has been developed as part of the Air Cargo (DTAC) TestBed Air Bare research project, which is funded by the BMDV, which develops digital solutions for air freight. By becoming a member of the Open Logistics Foundation and particle science in joint projects, companies can actively contribute to developing one record at a low cost.
