Telangana Industry and Commerce Minister Dodela Sridhar Babu inaugurated the new CSafe facility in Hyderabad on the sidelines of the Cold Chain Unbroken conference. The new 15,000 sq ft distribution and operations warehouse marks CSafe’s sixth facility in India and is expected to enhance cold chain capacity across the region.
CSafe is known for its thermal shipping solutions that meet the cold chain shipping requirements of the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. Its offerings include a wide range of products, such as active and passive bulk air cargo containers, parcel solutions, cell and gene therapies, and specialized last-mile delivery options.
The new facility, located just 10 kilometers from Hyderabad International Airport, will serve the growing demand for passive containers and thermal blankets from customers in Hyderabad and the wider Asia Pacific region. The facility is strategically located to capitalize on Hyderabad’s expanding pharmaceutical market and support the broader logistics needs of India’s rapidly growing biopharma sector.
During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted the importance of cold chain infrastructure for the Telangana industry. “Cold chain capacity and cold storage facilities are crucial to Telangana’s economic growth. We are happy with CSafe’s decision to set up a facility in Hyderabad, but are also discussing the possibility of expanding it into a full-fledged production facility,” the minister said.
Hyderabad has emerged as a vibrant hub for the pharmaceutical industry, with the city hosting several leading pharmaceutical companies and emerging biopharmaceutical companies. “The facility will primarily serve the needs of passive containers and thermal blankets for our customers in Hyderabad. Business here has become significant and customers have been demanding a dedicated facility for a long time,” said Dharmesh Chauhan, Vice President – Global Sales – Passive Solutions at CSafe.
With production facilities already set up in Mumbai and Pune, and expansion plans in Ahmedabad and Bangalore, CSafe is establishing itself as a crucial player in the cold chain sector in India. “We have plans to expand the new Hyderabad facility and introduce production capabilities, along with active container repair services,” said Tom Weir, Chief Operating Officer at CSafe.
The functionality of enhancing cold chain infrastructure in India was revealed for the first time at Air Cargo Week.
