Globe Air Cargo India, a subsidiary of ECS Group, has been appointed as GSSA for Thai Airways in Bangalore and Cochin. The partnership, which will come into effect from September 1, 2024, aims to enhance Thai Airways’ operational capacity and connectivity in India, and facilitate access to key markets in the Far East, Europe and Australia.
Under the new contract, Globe Air Cargo India will operate daily A350-900 flights from Bangalore, each offering 15 tonne cargo capacity. Initially operating three weekly flights, Cochin has now expanded to daily operations, contributing approximately 2.5 additional tonnes per flight. This strategic move significantly strengthens Thai Airways’ cargo network within India, as Globe Air Cargo India now operates four of the airline’s eight hub terminals across the country, handling more than 40 percent of its total exports from the country. Essential commodities expected to benefit from this agreement include medicines, perishable items, clothing, spices and automobile spare parts, supported by improved logistics and simplified communications.
